The DTI has issued notice 748 of 2016 (Thresholds for major B-BBEE Transactions). 

In terms of this notice, the DTI has proposed that All major B-BBEE ownership transactions, as per code 100 of the Codes of Good Practice as amended, which equals or exceeds R100 million, calculated by either combining the annual turnover of both entities or their assets value, must be registered with the BBBEE Commission. 

In addition to this, all major B-BBEE ownership transactions concluded on or after 24 October 2014, but before the final publication date of this notice, which equal or exceed the proposed threshold will be required to be registered with the B-BBEE Commission within 30 days of the final publication of the notice. The DTI will be accepting comments and inputs on this proposal within 30 days of the date of the notice (i.e. on or by 8 December 2016).
