A formula for Employment Equity and have you seen the draft for the Amended Tourism Sector Codes?

Dear Valued Client,

It’s been two months since all the updates and up-heave in the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and for the most part, it seems the dust is settling.

The Department of Trade and Industry issued the draft Amended Tourism B-BBEE Sector Codes for public comment on the 30th of June 2015. Interested parties have 60 days to submit their comments from the date of this publication for the attention of Julia Nzimande and Mologadi Leshiba: tourismsectorcodenthedtimov.za.

In May we provided a formula for calculating the Employment Equity section of the new Management and Control Code, which also affects the Skills Development calculations. Attached is an updated version where you can change EAP targets as required between national and regional demographics.

Our work associates at Intellidex released a grand report in the media last week titled "Black Economic Empowerment: Just how big is BEE". We think this makes for interesting and insightful reading and wish to share it with you:“Intellidex research reveals that BEE deals done by the JSE’s 100 largest companies have collectively generated R317bn of value for beneficiaries."
